Nirnaya Sindhu (Samskrit: निर्णयसिन्धुः) is a dharmashastra book written by Mm. Kamalakara Bhatt. It is a compilation of the vidhis (injunctions) and niyamas (rules) to be followed at different times of the year, during vratas (observances), soucha (purificatory rites), snana (bathing rituals) among many others.

Details of the Book

Written by Mm. Shri. Kamalakara Bhatt (श्रीकमलाकरभट्टप्रणीतः॥) this book is composed in samskrit and is a standard text widely used in Bharatavarsha as a manual of vidhis and niyamas. This 16th century compilation consists of three parichedas (chapters) and prakaranas therein.

ग्रंथकारकस्य परिचयः ॥ About the Author

A well known author who lived around the period of 1534 CE, compiled the smrti works, Shri. Kamalakara Bhatt is the son of Pt. Ramakrishna Bhatt and the grandson of Shri. Narayana Bhatt. He is the brother of Shri. Dinakara Bhatt. He was a noted Smarta during his time he is credited with the authorship of the following granthas[1]
