Vedas and Dharma (वेदाः धर्मः च)

Vedas (वेदाः) and Dharma (धर्मः) have been the pillars on which Sanatana Dharma (सनातनधर्मः) stood ground since time immemorial. That Vedas are the source of all Dharma (in moral, social, religious, judicial, and spiritual sense) is irrefutably advocated by all authoritative texts of our Bharatiya Samskrtika Parampara. Vaidika Vangmaya (वैदिकवाङ्मयम्)

Vaidika Vangmaya (Samskrit : वैदिकवाङ्मयम्) means that literature which is "associated with the Vedas". Vaidika literature includes the ancillary and subsidiary texts associated with the Vedas which have come into existence to clarify and understand the Vedas. Thus over a period of time, different explanatory shastras evolved to explain the subtle concepts presented in Vedas and they are included in under the Smriti literature.The following headings cover the topics discussed under Vaidika Vangmaya

Devalayam (Samskrit : देवालयः) means 'the temple' as the abode of the deities has been the central axis around which the activities of Sanatana Dharma revolved till the recent centuries. The genius of Bharatavarsha is reflected with greater power nowhere else than in its philosophy, literature, sculpture and the perfect blending of these into the grand scheme of Dharmika Jivana Vidhana. Srirangam

Srirangam Temple

Srirangam, also known as Thiruvarangam is one of the foremost among the 108 Vaishnava temples. It is situated 10kms from Tiruchirapalli district in Tamil Nadu. Here, Vishnu in the form of Sri Ranganatha is seen reclining on the coils of Adisesha. A temple in tamil is called 'koil'. However, among the Vaishnavas, the common noun koil is an invariable reference to the temple of Srirangam. Such is the vital position occupied by this temple within the tradition of Vaishnavism. This temple is also one of the Pancha Ranga kshetras, the other four being, Adirangam (Mysore), Appalarangam (Thiruper), Chaturtharangam (Kumbakonam) and Pancharangam of Indalur/ Mayavaram. ...View More

-"Give food! Give food! Give food!" Thus spake Srikrsna to Yudhisthira,
-while advising him on dana, the discipline of giving, in the
-Bhavisyapurana.1
-The Bhavisyapurana is probably recounting the conversation
-that takes place in the Mahabharata between Srikrsna and Yudhisthira
-at the culmination of the asvamedhayajha undertaken by the
-latter after the victory in the war. Before the yajha, Yudhisthira
-along with his brothers, and in the presence of Srikrsna, sits at the
-feet of Bhlsma lying on his bed of arrows, and at his request, the
-grand old man instructs the freshly anointed king of Hastinapura
-on all aspects of dharma. BhTsma's instructions run to about 25,000
-verses, constituting almost a quarter of the epic, and comprising
-two major parvans, the santiparvan and anusasanaparvan of the
-Mahabharata. It is at the end of this great instruction that Bhlsma
-leaves his mortal body, and Krsnadvaipayanavyasa and Srikrsna advise

-Towards the end of this grand discourse on dharma, Yudhisthira asks Srlkrsna for the essence of the entire teaching of BhTsma:
-bhismavdkyat sarabhutam vada dharmam suresvara?
-To which Srlkrsna replies: annena dhdryate sarvarh jagadetaccara-
-caram... annadah pranado loke pranadah sarvado bhavet. tasmadannam
-visesena datavyam bhutimicchata? "The world, both animate an
-inanimate, is sustained by food... The giver of food is the giver of life and indeed of everything else. Therefore, one who is desirous
-of well-being in this world and beyond should make special
-endeavour to give food."
-This is how Srlkrsna summarizes the monumental teachings of
-BhTsma. It is not for nothing therefore that the Bhavisyapurana
-renders the essence of dharma as conveyed by Srlkrsna in the
