Multiple सूत्रऽ applicable in अष्टाध्यायी

० यदि इमे

           ० इको यण् अचि

           ० अकः सवर्णे दीर्घः

० रामे अस्ति

           ० एचोऽयवायावः

           ० एङः पदान्तादति

० वन ओषधिः

० आद् गुणः

           ० वृद्धिरेचि

तक्र-कौण्डिण्य-न्याय

० तक्र-कौण्डिण्य-न्याय

           ० छात्रेभ्यो दधि दीयताम् । । तक्रं कौण्डिण्याय ।।

           ० Give curd to all the Students

Buttermilk to कौण्डिण्य

० कौण्डिण्य is also a student.

० छात्राः / Students set is bigger.

० कौण्डिण्य is a subset of Students set.

० So what should be given to कौण्डिण्य - Curd or Buttermilk or Both?

Let us analyse the rules

० Rule 1: Give Curd to all students

० Rule 2: Give Buttermilk to कौण्डिण्य

           ० Compare Rule 1 Rule 2 w.r.t. scope.

           ० Rule-1 has bigger scope relative to Rule 2

० What we can understand

           ० Rule 1 is General Rule for the whole set.

           ० Rule 2 is exception to Rule 1 but specific to a subset.

० Therefore, only Rule 2 is applicable in case of कौण्डिण्य.
