Book X is a treatise on ‘Acts relating to the War’.  The book is more on war strategy. It details the positioning strategy of the troops, elephants, chariots and cantonment as such. The book emphasizes on the positioning strategy which can greatly assist in winning wars over enemies. There is a clear cut description of the array of troops while encounter in wings, flanks and front depending on the strength of the troops, and the arrangement pattern of the army like a staff, snake, circle or in diffused form. It depicts the complete look and feel of the battle field and also the modes of fighting. It describes strategies related to treacherous fights, fight between one's own army and that of the enemy, encouragement and protection of it while in trouble and finally actions of  and battle with infantry, cavalry, chariots and elephants.
