Too much of either suffering or happiness becomes a uncarriable burden to anyone, no matter how powerful one is. It causes one to break down after a certain period of time. Gandhari could have sent Shakuni away but did not even though she was seeing all the bad effects. In good things, one should not worry about the result and keep trying to do good things. Even if one fails the intentions will be taken seriously. Gandhari kept ignoring and the consequences were building and the reaction came in the form of a battle.
