The oldest written record of Gujarat's history is in a 2000-year-old Greek book titled 'The Periplus of the Erythraean Sea: Travel and Trade in the Indian Ocean'. Gujarat as the rest of BharatVarsha was a part of the highly advanced Indus Valley Civilization. Notably, the famous and magnificent Dwarkadhish Temple has been mentioned in the book before being reconstructed a it was pillaged by foreign invaders.
