*This is a stage of creating impressions in the mind of the child so as to mould the evolving mind. Therefore, stories play a very important role. Especially, those like that of Prahlada that emphasize on the omniscience of the Supreme being.
* In this stage, parents are advised to observe the child, having understood one's own [[Varna Dharma (वर्णधर्मः)|Varna Dharma]].
* Other important activities include practice of Sanskrit conversation in a disciplined fashion, collection and rendition of pictures based on respective Varna.
*Here too, the main role will be of the mother. While the father, and the other members of the family will lend a helping hand.

* The process of Panchakosha vikas begins at this stage starting with the annamaya kosha. And hence, a balanced and Satvika diet is extremely important.
