| Sri Ramanuja was born on Thursday 4th April 1017 A.D. (Pingala Chaitra Sukla Panchami) in the star of Arudra corresponding to Saka year 939, and Kali year 4118. His father was Aasuri Keshavacharya, who was a Somayaji. His mother, Bhudevi, was the sister of Periya Tirumalai Nambi, a disciple of Yamuna (of ascetic order).
