The process of sapling development is considered for the explanation of the concept. When a potent seed is sown in the fertile soil during good climatic conditions & irrigated properly it results into a sapling. Similarly these 4 factors Rutu (fertile period), Kshetra (the reproductive system), Ambu (nutrition) & beeja (Sperm & ovum) are the 4 factors essential for the suprajanan.

1) Rutu- Rutu can be defined as the appropriate time for conception . This is the specific duration of the menstrual cycle when the yoni (cervix) is open and permeable, and allows the entry of shukra . 2) Kshetra- Kshetra means Garbhashaya (the uterus and allied organs).  The concept of Kshetra can involve the whole female body including the reproductive system & the mind; the mind ready for the process of conception & motherhood. The female body, the kshetra, should be free from dosha & ready to accept & sustain the pregnancy. The body detoxification, therefore, is required & can be achieved through Panchakarma therapies like vamana, virechana, basti etc  followed by a stipulated restricted nutritious dietary regimen. The cleansing and strengthening of the garbhashaya and allied organs then can be done using therapies like uttarbasti, pichudharana, yonipooran etc .Mind plays a very important role in the process of conception.

3) Ambu- Ambu is the fluid or the juice resulted from the digestion of the food taken by the mother . This serves for the nutrition of the garbha. The quality and quantity of this Rasa, is of utmost importance, as it forms the basic building units of the garbha.

4) Beeja- Beej is defined as the entity which gives origin to a new life similar to itself . The beeja therefore, is responsible for inheritance of maternal & paternal attributes.  Beeja here refers to streebeej i.e. Artav & purushabeej i.e. Shukra. The purity of shukra and artav should be considered important.
