Laukika nyaya (Samskrit: लौकिकन्याय:) refer to sayings or popular maxims. A laukika-nyaya is a phrase or statement conveying some incidents or events, based on worldly truths, practices or experiences known by the term 'adage' or 'maxim' in English language. These maxims convey the special type of behaviour not only of human beings, but also of birds and animals, and are properly understood by the references to the context of the anecdotes or events.<ref>Lalye, P. == Introduction ==
Laukika nyayas are brief mostly embodied in one compound with vague or concealed incidents. They can be reframed into a sentence with a slight change. Nyāya is connected with the group of words where it converts some incident into an adage endowed with some significance.
