Vata-janya diseases are caused by the malefic influence of Shani, Rahu, Ketu. In the Charaka Samhita of Ayurveda, eighty types of these vata diseases are described. There are many classifications and sub-classifications of these eighty types of Vata diseases too, on which medical science is based.
