MUMBAI: A 20-year-old woman, identified as Shaheen Parveen, was found hanging at her residence in suburban Oshiwara, in the Behrambaugh slum, according to the police report on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when concerned neighbors, after receiving no response to their repeated calls, decided to break open the door of her small room. To their shock, they found her lifeless body hanging from the ceiling.
Promptly alerted, the Oshiwara police arrived at the scene and rushed her to a nearby hospital. She was declared dead upon arrival. Shaheen Parveen, originally from Bihar, had been residing alone in the slum.
